Exhibition - 29th March 2014

A Sense of Place - Llangwm

On Saturday 29th March 2014 Llangwm Local History Group staged an exhibition entitled:
'A SENSE OF PLACE - LLANGWM'.

This featured four local properties and their residents past and present. The properties were Model Farm, The Mill House, Ty Gwin and Allt-y-bela.

The exhibition also included a treasure trove of photographs and information about the old school in Llangwm, which closed in 1984. This was of interest to previous pupils and their parents, many of whom fought to keep the school open.

In addition, guided visits were available to view the exteriors of The Mill House and The School.

A 'Welcome to our Archives' display with some interesting maps of the area and census information about former residents was on show, with society members in attendance to answer questions and help with queries.

Local people were encouraged to bring any memories, photographs, memorabilia and experiences which could be added to our archive or just enjoy, share and contribute to history on this special day.

Refreshments were served throughout the day making LLANGWM PARISH HALL the best value coffee shop in this area from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 29th March 2014.
