Llangwm (Monmouthshire) Local History Group

The Llangwm Local History Group was formed in August 1998 with two main objectives:

To facilitate talks, presentations and visits on local and county history
To engage in research on the local history of the area

You can join the group for a whole season or choose to go to individual meetings for a small charge to cover costs. Meetings are held once a month in the six Winter months of the year and cover a wide variety of topics. The meetings take place in the evening, in Llangwm village hall.

In 2003, with the assistance of a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, a small project group started to establish a local history resource centre. This is already being used to discover the history of the local area through the use of the 1841 to 1901 censuses and old property deeds.
